Twilight

Cards Padres 2014-08-14 16

If the Cardinals are St. Louis' state religion then the players must be the gods. I was going to title this post Götterdämmerung but then I thought, sheesh, that's just a little too precious. In any event, a beautiful summer evening sky looking toward the Missisippi.

Whenever the subject turns one's preferences in baseball, I explain that I am from St. Louis, where the Cardinals are a religion.

In fact, just last evening I had dinner with a friend who grew up outside Detroit and the subject turned to the 1968 World Series. My heart still aches. I am consolable only by the fact that the Cardinals had won the World Series the year before, as well as in 1964, so 1968 would have been the third championship in 5 years.

That's beautiful!

Thank you, Bob. It's good to know there's a whole world outside of Ferguson! I was starting to forget there are still sunsets and baseball games and TV shows that are aired in entirety and people who are not protesting or looting.

Terrific shot, Bob. I like the light that time of day... seems to change by the second.

How close is Ferguson to where you are? The news here are all about the situation there.

Great sunset-at-the-park photo. Nothing like that at Fenway Tuesday night.
